Delusion and Sexual Obsession in Geriatrics (Case -4)

In the First Week of May, I received call from a lady in 30s who seek Counseling for her Parents. Her parents are living with her for past 6 months since 2021 November. Her mother (64) is suffering from delusion while her father (75) having sexual obsession.

I have visited to their house in Gachibowli, Hyderabad for 3 days dated 11^th, 13^th May and 18^th May 2022.

Day 1: 11^th May 2022 (Wednesday)

A)      Mother: Mrs. N is of age 64. Her date of birth is 22-Mar-1958, born at Jammu & Kashmir in the early morning 1:20 A.M. She is having delusion and suspicion that someone is watching her through Wi-Fi / Spyware installed in her mobile. She is hearing sounds of a ghost family fighting each other in the apartment next to her house. In truth, this is complete illusion because there is no such family. She is also in the feeling that someone recording her naked when she is bathing through Wi-Fi / with the help of Drones and uploading video online.

B)       Father: Mr. UM is 75yrs. Old. He was born at Rajahmundry, A.P on 24-APR-1947 at 19:50 P.M. He got paralyzed in his right leg in 2009, but he can walk a little distance. His day starts with watching porn in the mobile. He got installed apps related to porn videos in his mobile with the help of a guy running internet centre.

Both of them used to live at location A.S Rao Nagar, Hyderabad from the past 16 yrs. Although live together for name sake, both of them living separate lives in single home for past 14 years. 

Mom of Mrs. N died on 2019 Feb at age of 86 after falling from bed. She started feeling lonely and lost her mental imbalance. Before this 8 yrs. Back, her elder sister died of heat shock with body burns in bathroom.

Quite a few years, their daily starts as following:

Woke up at 7:30 A.M

Bath around 10:30 A.M

Servant Cook comes at after 11 A.M

Breakfast at 13:00 P.M

Sleep between 14 to 16 P.M

Lunch at 16:30 P.M

Same Cook comes after 18:00 P.M

Dinner at 23:00 P.M includes Aloo Paratha with Chapattis, Soup, and glass of Milk.

Sleep at 1 A.M

Before arriving to India in 2004, both the couples were used to live at the place Andaman & Nicobar Islands along with their 2 daughters since 1980s. At the time living in Andaman, Mr. UM got attracted towards Punjabi Woman (35) who used to be their neighbour living with her family.

Mrs. N often complaint that Mr. UM has flirtier nature surfaced in 2008, the time when she left Australia for 4 months to visit and attend her elder daughter pregnancy delivery. He misbehaved with young servant girls and befriends with stranger ladies in the street on morning walk. Both couples stooped having sex with each other since 2011. This created more disturbances in their relationship and his change in attention towards younger teen girls.

Day 2: 13^th May 2022 (Friday)

This time I took sessions individually.

a)      Mr. UM (75)

   He used to work as Building Construction engineer at Andaman. His own younger brother cheated him of money worth Rs. 26,000 of purchasing a truck for agriculture land.

When after settled in Hyderabad from 2004, he used to do small jobs for certain time until their daughters married. Then afterwards, he stayed at home watching movies and gossiping with servant girls.

Before marriage, he mentioned that he had love affairs with many woman including physical relationships.

During the 4 months gap in 2008, when his wife Mrs. N travelled to Australia to visit her daughter, he resorted to all kinds of immoral acts such as drinking, sex, watching porn, etc.

b)      Mrs. N (64)

She mentioned 3 major cases where her husband involved in misbehave with women:

i)                     In 2008, there was an 18yrs. Old servant name Ms. Su. She used to all the homely work like cleaning the house, cooking food, washing clothes, etc. One day, Mr. UM grabbed Ms. Su around her waist while she was sweeping the floor. She got angry and told to Mrs. N. 

ii)                   In 2009, he helped a servant Ms. Vi (25 age) to get marry to boy who used to run Panipuri stall business. He invited them to his home in the absence of Mrs. N to give treat Liquor treat at night. While in alcoholic state, Mr. UM pressed her breast when she was sleeping inebriated state. In the morning, her husband started fighting about what happened last night and demand for ransom money. Mr. N interfered and threatened them to inform police and couple ran way.

iii)                  In 2012, Mr. UM come across Muslim girl of 19 age and impregnate her and finally taken her to hospital for abortion. He gave her some money and marry her to another guy.

Day 3: 18^th May 2022 (Wednesday)

This time I take couple session together and we talk on Spiritual matter and Movies.

Mrs. N was enthusiast when started conversation on Hollywood movies and Cartoons like Speed, Terminator, Tom & Jerry, Mogli, etc.

I debate with Mr. UM to some extent that how watching porn impact on his family especially his wife mental condition. He started talking on spiritual discourses of Osho, Jaya Kishori maata, etc.

Conclusion:

   I deleted porn videos app in all mobiles, disconnected Wi-Fi. I asked both of them to watch Television instead of looking Mobile Phone. I suggest watching comedy shows like Mr. Bean, Popeye show and spiritual plays like Shri Krishna, Pravachan of Sri Garikapati Narasimha Rao, etc.

I told them to change eating habits. Food habits menu (breakfast before 8:30 AM, Lunch before 12 PM, Snacks by 4:30 and Dinner before 9 PM).

Finally, insist Couple to walk for 20 minutes after Lunch / Dinner and to do Meditation before Sleep every day, as they are not in a condition to go outside of apartment / residency.

Result: Couple started showing improvement and trying to get out from their daily routine. Her daughter is now happy. Couple are planning to return to their apartment in A.S Rao Nagar in after 1^st Week in June 2022.
